7500 saltwater resistant reel

I got the 7500 saltwater model for surf fishing in Atlantic Ocean. The package arrived within two days (because of my Amazon Prime account). The packaging is a very nice plastic box, which can be the reel storage during winter season. Besides the reel in the box, there are one bag of spare parts, one bag of plastic reel case to prevent the reel being scratched, and one cloth reel pouch which can also be used as a drying cloth to clean the reel after fishing.

The reel is well designed and made. It is not the typical made-in-China kind of cheap material. I have around two dozen of different kinds of fishing reels, this one is one of the best. I do lots of wade-in fishing in river below a dam, my fishing reel got soaked in water all the time, sometimes I even use the fishing rod and reel as a walking stick to keep balance in the current. The water-proof and mud-proof feature are very important to me. I tested the reel in local river and did some underwater reeling to see how good is the water-proof and mud-proof feature of this reel. After fishing several hours in river, I opened the reel, there is no water inside the reel and the drag. I cannot wait to book my next Florida fishing vacation to see how good the reel can stand the assault of saltwater.

The so-called parallel winding spool design is only for those high-end fishing reels. In those regular low-end fishing reels, line roller rotates 5 turns and wraps 5 times of fishing line onto your spool from top to bottom. In this reel , line roller rotates 25 turns and wraps 25 times of fishing line onto your spool from top to bottom. This design translates into a much more even fishing line spooling and longer casting distance.

There are few small things I do not like about this reel. The 1st, those plastic reel cases made the reel look cheap and feel bulky. It is designed to prevent scratch and water . You can decide to use the case or not. The 2nd, the reel foot has been beefed up a little bit in order to increase the strength of metal body and may have hard time to stick into some fishing rods. The 3rd, there are 2 red color space washers inside the reel. Only one is needed, the 2nd one should be spare part. Please loosen your drag knob, remove your spool and take out the extra washer before spooling your fishing line. Otherwise your line will pile up onto the bottom of your spool.
Overall, I think this is an excellent product well designed and well made. And I am looking forward to the 4000 model coming to US market.

Notes:
1. Please remove the first red shim when not balanced of winding or burst
1. Please select the correct reel size according to the specification
2. After using your reel in seawater, please tighten your drag and rinse with fresh water and wipe dry with a dry cloth. This simple maintenance can prolong the life of your fishing reel
